Beit el Baraka
Beit el Baraka opened nine months before the October 2019 uprising and quickly became a frontline responder to Lebanon’s mounting crises.
As state institutions collapsed, it stepped in to support the elderly and children with food, healthcare, education, and sustainable farming. In the absence of a safety net for vulnerable communities, Beit el Baraka created one, driven by the same belief in a better future that brought people to the streets.
In addition to its original role of supporting the elderly, Beit el Baraka:
(1) provided emergency relief after the 2020 port explosion by rehabilitating apartments and small businesses;
(2) established the farm-to-table social enterprise Beit Kanz with 100% of proceeds flowing to Beit el Baraka; and
(3) launched Forsa, an educational program supporting financially needy students in Lebanon.
Beit el Baraka is a secular, non-political, nonprofit registered in the United States (501(c)(3)) and Australia, and publishes yearly audited financial statements.
